Or anything that shifts similarly to that, even if it's another brand of transmission? I want my bike like that.

Oh, and seller has to be willing to send that bike here in Manila, which is a land far, far away.

like grip-shift? Most people hate grip-shift. I don't know if revo shift is any different, but what do you thing would be the advantage?

Also you could just add them to any bike, it's just the shifters at the handlebars. They are cheap

downtube frictionshift or nothing. Gives you much more involvement while riding. Also, it weighs less and is easier to fix.

/savethedtfrictionshifters

[doesnt actually have friction shifters]

They have been around for years, and really suck to be honest.

You have to let go of the bar to shift, while a normal shifter you can just flick with your fingers.

They're shit (unless you get the REALLY expensive SRAM ones). I prefer SRAM for my mountain bike stuff however I don't know what their current range is.

just make sure you get the right one to go with the number of gears you have, and the brand of derailleur you have. Also if you have a shimano derailleur, get a shimano shifter. If you have a sram, get a sram. Just to be sure the indexing and cable pull ratios are correct.

Plus 1 on hating grip shift and the like. The first time you are powering up a hill and accidentally downshift and fall on your face, you'll probably agree.

Disclaimer, I haven't ridden a bike with them in 10+ years.

I have friction shifters on my 1982 Fuji. Great for a road bike where you don't shift a lot, and they are easy to use and require no tuning. I would never want them on a mountain bike... ever.

I was mainly taking the piss on the manual gearbox evangelists. But I do think downtube shifters have their merit. It stops you from questioning what gear you're in and forces you to plan ahead.

and they allow brake levers to look good.
